10 Do's & Don'ts

Oh, how we heart Twitter!  A fun way to express yourself, promote your business, find new products, make new friends, read lovely tweets, learn and meet some amazing people that you wouldn't otherwise.  But just like any other networking channel, there are do's, don'ts, pros and cons.  And the more you know about them, the more pleasant your experience will be on Twitter.

 

Twitter is my own personal favorite and top pick Social Media network, and I will do another review that notes exactly why. For now, the focus is on the fact that there is a learning curve with Twitter (just like any other Social Media) in order to avoid unpleasant people, behavior, interactions and scams.  There is definitely a Twitter Etiquette - TwitEquette - that needs to be followed and some people seem to be completely clueless when it comes to how to behave on Twitter.

 

 

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR AND WHO TO STAY AWAY FROM

 

 

People who call themselves "Teachers" or "Monks" & Don't Practice What They Preach

 

Teachers, life coaches or any other types of business where they charge you money to teach should be studied carefully (before you follow or contact them for their services). Now, there are some legit teachers and coaches on Twitter who truly want to help people and they should be applauded. But watch out for the ones who have their twitter account on automated tweets, constantly tweeting the same promotions for their business and products over and over again to the point that they flood your Twitter screen.

 

More importantly, if these so called teachers mention anything about anyone on Twitter that shows they have betrayed someone's trust and confidence, then you know to stay away from them since they are clearly not trustworthy. These "self-acclaimed teachers" who become upset and rude simply because someone chooses to not work with them, are definitely not true teachers.  They certainly cannot be trusted when they speak publicly about a conversation that should have been kept completely confidential. Make sure that they are true professionals before you follow or contact them.

 

 

People Who Feel The Need To Constantly Tell Others What To Do and What Not To Do

 

These people seem to think they are Twitter Gods, usually using the #Don'tBeThatGuy before they start to preach! They somehow think they know more than everyone else, and that others are doing something wrong. They also constantly feel the need to correct everyone's behavior and actions on Twitter. I have also found that these people usually have a personal agenda by doing this in the first place.

 

 

People Who Follow You First, Have K+ Followers, Yet Their "Following" List is Short

 

If you choose to follow them, go to their "following" list, and see if your avi is showing up. If it's not, they obviously have found a way to trick the system in a way that everyone who follows them shows up on their "followers" list, but the people that they follow (you) don't show up on their "following" list. It's best to stay away from these types of accounts.

 
People Who Announce Who Unfollowed Them - Eeek!

Whether they mention the names of people who unfollowed them or send the creepy message of "I know who unfollowed me!", stay away from them. If anyone mentions anything remotely about anyone unfollowing them, not only it sounds desperate, but it sounds as if they’re stalkers. Follow people who have class and enough common sense to not behave like children.

Twitiquette - 10 Do’s and Don’ts on Twitter

 

 

 

 

1. Always be classy and considerate. Be nice and polite. Just like in real life and interacting with people in person, be nicer than needed. Be more polite than needed.
   
   

2. Acknowledge Retweets and Mentions, especially from people on your Following and Followers list.

3. Be humble. Keep a positive energy on Twitter, but if you’re always talking about (for example) how wonderful your significant other is to you, the 10 dresses he just bought you, how many vacations he’s taking you on and etc., it just sounds snobbish and self-serving. Keep what's private - just that - private!

4. Unless you’re a Twitter account that its niche is to share news, you don’t need to be the 11:00 PM news.

5. Be real. Being happy and upbeat is great and attractive. But when you act like a fake Barbie doll 100% of the time, who doesn’t have a real life, and nothing ever gets to her, then people will question your authenticity. Keep it honest. If you’re a real human being, then show it.

6. Even though Twitter shows who favorites a certain Tweet, when people favorite your tweet, consider it private and confidential. If someone favorites your tweets, don’t mention what tweet in particular they favorite.

7. If you don’t have anything nice to say about a company, don’t say it UNLESS you have tried to resolve the matter with them, and they have not been responsive or professional.

8. Be cool. Don't ask anyone to follow you back! People can see you on their follower's list. Announcing to someone that you are following them or even go as far as asking them to follow you back sounds desperate and it's just plain annoying. People have the right to follow whomever they want without being manipulated or feeling obligated to do so.
   
   
9. Avoid non-sense. Enough said.
   
   

10. Brighten up someone’s day. You have the opportunity to tweet something that can put a smile on someone’s face and maybe even change their whole day.

Genevieve Behrend has an incomparably direct, and dynamic personality and she relates the life-changing concepts on a personal level in her best-selling and most popular book.

Why: A brilliant book. An easy read and a great  introduction into the world of Mental Science; especially if you’re interested in reading Thomas Troward books, which cannot be just read and have to be studied very closely. You got The Invisible Power. Learn how to use it.

Robert Collier

What: The most respected Mental Science book thus far. Holmes was highly thought of by many respected thinkers of his time.  Norman Vincent Peale said, “I believe God was in this man, Ernest Holmes.  He was in tune with the Infinite.”

Why: Goes into depth of explaining universal and spiritual laws. How to become fully aware of these laws and use them to create the life you desire.

 

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
Joseph Murphy

It might have looked like a Raccoon trying to wash his hands very quickly. All that work and the brand name of this delicious tea was not there! 

 

So I decided to actually ask. Yes. The term Ask and You Shall Receive is very true.  The waiter was more than happy to provide me with the name, even though I thought they were giving away their mighty secret away. After all, this tea was the most expensive tea I had ever had. But after tasting it, I knew it was worth every penny. I got the name and now I didn't have to go back to L'Ermitage just to have my favorite tea! Although their lounge is one of the best and highly recommended by moi!

Haven't written for a while, but I'm back and thank you to all you wonderful loyal fans for all your love.


So between product reviews, how about some food for thought? After all, we are fabulous women who are more than what meets the eye.  With this age of everything high tech, from flattering Facebook profiles to Some Sweet Tweets, you get to see people's real character and personality come out. Just sit back, read and observe.


Although, these social medias are all great to promote businesses and to be used as social networking, it's interesting how most people overlook the power of words when it comes to electronic communication.  As a business graduate and a business woman myself, I have had the pleasure of meeting the most humble entrepreneurs - such as Ms. Sandy Gooch (Founder Wholefoods Market) - who are so sweet and nice - and then I've also met some so called professionals who are just plain arrogant.  Although you can't always judge a book by its cover, typing away words says something about the typer. The good thing is, you get to see if the typer is just a confident person voicing their opinion, or if they are just an arrogant and self-involved person who thinks just a bit too much of themselves, and needs to be reminded to land their feet back down on earth again.


So since there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance, how can you tell who is typing away, whether it's Twitter, Facebook or etc.?  Pay attention to choice of words, whether they're talking about others or themselves. A confident person does not have to put others down in order to glorify themselves. An arrogant person on the other hand, almost always, uses words to degrade others and build themselves up. Listen to the tone. The small signals here and there that actually speak loudly, without the typer even being aware of them.


Being in my line of business, I've met all types of people from all kinds of backgrounds from entrepreneurs, business people, lawyers, doctors, engineers and etc.  And I can say one thing. It doesn't matter what type of degree a person has or how smart they think they are, you can't buy common sense, kindness, sweetness, ethics or a caring personality with any type of degree or money. They either have it or they don't, and you can't change anyone. Surround yourself with humble and wise people who are kind as much as you can. People who have enough common sense to apologize if they make a mistake. Friends who care about you just as much as you care about them. And that goes for both people you communicate in person or via electronic communication.

Well, Dolls, this is the longest article I’ve written to date, but only because I am really amazed by this product!  My homeopathy doctor has a "butt model" as a patient.  She has the model on a special homeopathy and herb program to prevent and get rid of cellulite.  The model follows her program religiously, and it works for her.  For the rest of us, this iPant is definitely what some of us need to finally get rid of those stubborn cellulites.
